Since 2006 doctoral candidate, working on a thesis project entitled “Aristocratic Friendship in Seventeenth-Century France”; the project is organized as a German-French “cotutelle” (joint bi-national supervision) at the University of Freiburg and the Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences socials (E.H.E.S.S.) in Paris. The thesis is supervised jointly by professors Ronald G. Asch (Freiburg) and Jean Boutier (E.H.E.S.S.); the thesis has been submitted in French, but I have written a German manuscript alongside it and I ultimately plan to publish the text in both languages.
